This week went by so quickly. Do you guys have plans for the weekend? It’s supposed to rain here and both of us has to work a little. Oh but we do have plans with friends to celebrate the Chinese New Year…that should be fun! Anyway, whatever your plans may be here’s me wishing all of you a sweet weekend!
Last week I decided to finally check out the show Downton Abbey. At the local library there is a long holds list and all of season 1 is not available on the PBS site. Fortunately, Amazon Prime offers it through their instant video streaming. There’s been a lot of good things said about the show and a write up a week or so ago in the LA Times about one of the actresses. The show was really good, I watched 2 episodes. Could have watched more, but figured I’d better pace myself. It’s so easy to get addicted to a show and watch everything all at once and then when you’re caught up you’re left yearning for more. Hoping season 2 will be just as great!
Well, I hope everyone has been having a great holiday season so far. It’s hard to believe that the season will be over this weekend. Honestly I’m ready for it to be over. It’s time to get on with 2012. Not that 2011 was horrible, but it seems from Thanksgiving – New Year’s we’re kinda in a strange spot. We shuffle (not in a bad way) through the holidays, but never seem to move forward. Like we can’t actually move forward until the new year starts. I’m excited & hopefully all of you are excited as well. So here’s to a fabulous New Year! Please be safe and have a fun and I’ll see all you lovelies in 2012
P.s. Santa hubby brought me a new camera, yay! Now I have to learn how to use it
My camera officially died and it’s sad. I need to buy a new one, but it’s so confusing. The one that died was this great little point and shoot.
RIP my sweet little camera
Loved, loved, loved it! However, now that I need a new one, I’m thinking maybe about upgrading to a DSLR, but it’s a little intimidating. Something pretty entry-level, simple to use, not too expensive but with options to become advanced as I learn and become advanced. Someone recommended this one.
Canon Rebel T2i
How does one chose? Any advice? Thanks, in advance!
Oh, p.s. I really want to make a decision soon because my man said that a camera could be my Christmas present this year 🙂
A few pics of student work:
flag book completely open
sewn board/ case binding (i think)
collection of sewn board
The students worked really hard. They made a collection of about 22 different types of books this semester. Well done everyone!
A few weeks or so ago my friend Joy & I were talking about some different things we wanted to do. Each of us mentioned taking dance classes. joy is a dance teacher. I said that I wanted to take some hip hop dance classes. It’s something that I used to do and really enjoyed. So Joy put that into her memory bank and surprised me for my birthday. We had been trying to get some girl time in and this was perfect. She said that she would pick me up and for me to wear dance clothes. I text her asking “what are dance clothes?” She said, clothes I work out in. funny, but because of the day & time, I thought she was going to take me to a boot camp class. To my surprise, it was a hip hop dance class (advanced class). We grabbed dinner and went to class. It was sooooo much fun! I loved every minute of it. it’s amazing what one can learn in an hour. We danced, laughed, and had a great time. This was such a thoughtful gift and was encouraged that Joy remembered our conversation. I think everyone should have a little Joy in their lives!

Thanks again Joy!
