Once upon a time there was a girl named Jennifer (that would be me) who was nine months pregnant and ready to give birth. She went to the hospital because the doctors wanted to induce her to help her have the baby. They tried inducing her that first day with no success so they decided to let her rest and try again the next day. Later that night, the baby decided that she wasn’t comfortable and changed positions, which also made her mommy uncomfortable. Bright and early the next morning while preparing for the induction, the doctor discovered that the baby was now laying transverse (sideways) rather than head down. After many discussions it was decided it would be best to do a c-section. Jennifer cried. One of the nurses that worked the night before said she would stay with her until she had the baby. It seemed like forever, but the actual procedure was quick and before she knew it Jennifer had given birth to a big healthy baby girl named Skylar. Jennifer instantly fell in love and was happier than she had ever been.
Wow, I can’t believe the story just told is 20 yrs. old. Skylar is 20 today…crazy! It really does seem like yesterday. It’s amazing that I can clearly remember so many details of her life. In 20 years, Skylar and I have been through…some really great times, some good times, and some not so good times. Skylar has grown up to be a very strong, independent, beautiful woman and no matter how old she gets, she will always be my baby girl. Happy Birthday Skylar, I love you!
